Who Alfred is for
Anywhere a guest sits down and waits to be noticed. Alfred has been trialled with restaurants, cafés and hotels in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and suits any floor where waiters cover more tables than they can watch.
- Restaurants
Guests order the second round and ask for the bill without flagging anyone down. Tables turn faster at the end of the meal.
- Cafés and shisha lounges
Charcoal requests go to the runner, waiter requests go to the waiter, and the terrace stops shouting.
- Hotel restaurants and pools
A guest on a sunbed is a table too. The code on the lounger brings the menu and the service to them.
- Food halls and events
Many counters, one floor screen. Each operator sees its own section, the hall sees everything.
An evening on the terrace, as Alfred records it
| Moment | What happens |
|---|---|
| 20:10, table 12 sits down | Scan. The menu opens in Arabic. Two signatures and two drinks go in the cart and are confirmed on WhatsApp. |
| 20:40 | Fresh charcoal requested from table 7. The runner sees it on the lounge filter and goes. |
| 21:15 | Table 3 calls a waiter twice in five minutes. The counter reads 2 and the line stays highlighted until Sarra opens it. |
| 21:42 | Table 12 requests the bill: 90 SAR, cash. Hamed closes it; the visit is recorded with table, waiter, time and amount. |
| Next morning | The manager pulls the night's bills by section and by waiter, and sees which tables waited longest. |
