How Alfred works

Two sides of the same request: what the guest does on their phone, and what your team sees on the floor.

At the table

  1. Scan the code on the table. A QR code on a tent card or the menu opens Alfred in the phone's browser. The table number comes with it, so nobody has to type it.
  2. Browse and order. The menu, with photos, by category: bestsellers, signatures, salads, brunch, drinks, or whatever your kitchen does. Add to the cart, change quantities, check out.
  3. Ask for what you need. Call a waiter, request the bill, or ask for fresh charcoal, with one tap. No eye contact required.
  4. Pay the way you like. Pay by card from the phone or settle in cash. Either way the bill arrives on WhatsApp with the table number and the amount, so there is no confusion at the end.

On the floor

  1. The request appears instantly. Every scan and every tap becomes a line on the floor screen, with the table, its section and the waiter assigned to it.
  2. New requests stay highlighted. A new Waiter, Bill or Charcoal request is highlighted until someone on the team opens it. Nothing gets lost between the terrace and the kitchen.
  3. The right waiter picks it up. Waiters see their own sections. A shift lead sees everything, and can reassign a table when the floor changes.
  4. Close it, and it is recorded. Marking a request served updates the guest's chat. Each visit is kept: table, waiter, time, status and amount, ready for the end-of-night count.

The three requests

Call a waiter

Waiter requested

For anything that needs a person: a question about the menu, another round, a high chair. The table and section are on the request, so the nearest waiter goes.

Request the bill

Bill requested

The guest asks for the bill without catching anyone's eye. The amount and table number are already in Alfred, and the confirmation goes to the guest's WhatsApp.

Fresh charcoal

Charcoal requested

Built for shisha lounges and cafés. One tap, and the charcoal runner knows which table, without a walk around the terrace to check.

Waiter requestedBill requestedCharcoal requestedServed
StatusWhat it means
Waiter requestedThe table wants a person. Highlighted until a waiter opens it; the counter shows how many times the table has asked.
Bill requestedThe amount and the table number are already in Alfred. The guest's WhatsApp receives the bill summary.
Charcoal requestedFor shisha venues. Goes to whoever runs charcoal for that section.
ServedA team member closed the request. The time and the name are recorded against the visit.

The floor screen

Open it on a tablet at the pass or at the host stand. It refreshes itself every few seconds and filters by section.

Each waiter sees only their own sections; a shift lead sees every table. Guests' phone numbers are shown to staff only as the last four digits.
